23 Days of Sasquatch: And one extra for good measure – Hundred Waters

Electronic, indie rock band from Gainesville, Florida, Hundred Waters, profiles ethereal female vocals over jazzy percussion beats with a Americana twist. Welding soft instruments like the flute in with harsher sounding ones like a snare drum, Hundred Waters produces a sound that you’re not quite sure what to do with at first. Lead vocalist’s, Nicole Miglis, Sufjan Stevens-esque harmonizing stands her own against her full band backing.

There’s something hypnotic in listening to music that makes you question whether or not you like it. Hundred Waters is refreshing and recognize that in order for their art to be noticed they way it deserves is to create something that’s really just kind of weird. It’s a bold move, but the outfit does it nearly seamlessly.

[Hundred Waters performs from 3:05 to 3:50 PM on Sunday, May 26 on the Yeti stage.]
